What is Waiting?

When does the waiting end?

Is the waiting over now?

I have been posing these and other questions to visitors and the surrounding area for some time now as part of various installations.

Most recently, in the “Waiting Room,” which opened its doors to the neighborhood in Cologne-Mülheim in August and September 2020, many personal answers about waiting came together.

This mostly unloved state also has something delicate about it – something that can break or grow. Between movement and standstill, between decision and powerlessness, there are many facets and perhaps also the possibility of a beginning.

What does waiting mean to you?

“Flower for an Answer” was the name of the action during the Cityleaks Urban Art Festivals in Hüttenstraße, Cologne Ehrenfeld in 2021.

Here, visitors could exchange their answers at a fairground booth and win something in return: something to observe, something that can grow or bloom.
