About

eviblinkhallo!

Evi Blink, taz relocation, installation 2019, cooperative meeting, art project

I stand amidst collections of images, objects, stories, and memories:

Evi Tabea Blink, 39 years old and, as usual, searching for new paths, and collecting.

Collecting photographs means collecting the world.

Susan Sontag (1980): “In Plato’s Cave,” In: On Photography: Essays, FISCHER Taschenbuch Verlag, p. 9

After training as a photographer and studying photography at the FH Dortmund, I dedicated myself to artistic approaches beyond the medium of photography and have since been exploring interfaces between photography, art in public spaces, and participatory art. I fluctuate between individual images, collections, series, and new forms of representation. My current formats include installations and interventions, as well as photography workshops for young people and adults. I am constantly looking for new contexts to ask questions of places and people. I try to explore them photographically and artistically, to find answers and to ask new questions. Encounters with people play a significant role for me. I am particularly drawn to emotional intermediate states. Fascinated by the state of waiting, I started my exploration between movement and stillness with a search for curiosity, accompanied by the improvised handling of ignorance. We can only find out together what that can mean.

I see the greatest enrichment in diversity and experimentation.
